AFL’s Vision To establish a sustainable, scalable, and impact-driven education support program that empowers girls born to parents affected by AIDS, across Sri Lanka to complete secondary education and successfully transition into higher education, vocational training, or meaningful employment.

AFL’s Mission To provide structured, need-based educational support to vulnerable girls through tuition assistance, transport support, academic monitoring, career guidance and scholarships, ensuring improved educational outcomes and long-term opportunities

Geographic Strategy

AFL operates on an island-wide, needs-based model, supporting vulnerable students across multiple districts. This approach ensures equitable access to support, inclusion of vulnerable students regardless of location, flexibility in beneficiary selection and broader social impact.

Future Plans :

A) Strengthen Career Guidance & Transition Support through :

  • Structured career counselling sessions for senior students

  • Individual guidance on education and career pathways

  • Exposure to vocational and academic opportunities

  • Mentorship opportunities where possible

B) Strengthen Institutional Structure :

To support program implementation and growth, AFL will strengthen:

  • Program coordination through a dedicated coordinator

  • Data management systems and digital record-keeping

  • Financial tracking and reporting systems

C) Strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) :

  • Regular tracking of student attendance and academic performance

  • Maintenance of a centralized database

  • Periodic progress reviews and reporting

  • Feedback mechanisms from students, parents, and tutors
