DIGITAL LEARNING PROGRAM

Using technology to accelerate learning

Edu-GIRLS confronted the Covid-19 induced impact on learning by boldly shifting to an on-line digital learning platform across all our schools in India. Girls could take home their school sponsored devices loaded with suitable software, connectivity and safety features.

Schools in India have continued to use Mindspark, an AI based adaptive digital learning system which promotes critical thinking and problem solving. It not only works in the classroom but also facilitates self learning customized at each girl’s individual learning level outside of the classroom. Girls use Mindspark on average an hour per day at home.

To promote critical thinking and since some school Board exams take place only at grade 10, Edu-GIRLS’ accredited schools use Educational Initaitive’s ASSET system - currently being used by 500,000 students in 1,000 private English medium schools - to test girls from grade 3 to 10 twice a year. The goal is to achieve 100% national parity by 2023/24 was achieved by Vimukti.

EI’s ASSET testing now includes evaluating all teachers. Incentives are offered for excellence, support is provided for those motivated to improve and new teachers are recruited to replace those not meeting expectations. Vimukti has achieved its goal to reach national parity (score of 500) by 2023/24.
