Edu-GIRLS TEN Mantra Model
THE TEN MANTRAS MODEL developed and perfected over the last decade, is a package of interventions which assure that a girl living in poverty will enroll, engage and perform well. She will develop a confident personality and go on with sustained support including post high school scholarships, to become financially independent and a leader in her community.
1. FREE EDUCATION Charge no fees and offer free uniforms, shoes, and school supplies to ensure that girls are not kept out of schools due to poverty.
2. SAFE CAMPUS AND TRANSPORTATION Provide buses and e-rickshaws between home and a secure school campus to ensure safety and save time.
3. LONG SCHOOL YEAR Customize schedules and offer more school days so girls can fulfill household and work responsibilities that limit their learning time.
4. NUTRITION AND HEALTH Ensure a healthy body and a fresh mind through midday meals, nutritious snacks, health checkups and a free supply of hygiene products.
5. QUALITY EDUCATION Build strong foundations through Early Childhood Development. Offer 24X7 digital learning through MindSpark. Have regular independent testing of girls and teachers on ASSET to enhance skills.
6. STEM EDUCATION Offer high school science and math streams and technology immersion options to increase career opportunities post-graduation.
7. PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES Offer merit-based awards in all grades for students and incentives for teachers to improve pedagogical skills.
8. COMMUNITY OUTREACH Motivate and engage parents to keep girls in school and pursue careers after high school by delaying marriage.
9. NON-ACADEMIC LIFE SKILLS Promote performing arts, sports, self-defense, debate, team and stress management skills.
10. SCHOLARSHIP FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT Provide post high school scholarships for developing vocational skills and pursuing careers.
