RAG PICKERS OF NOIDA ARE READY TO BREAKOUT

Noida, a bristling city of a million people near New Delhi, attracts migrant unskilled labourers who end up living in its slums. An estimated 25000 children indulge in rag picking and begging and without an education and skills are trapped in poverty or tempted into the underworld.
Over ten years, a model to prepare, enroll and develop market skills among these rag pickers is now ready for scaling up using interventions of Edu-GIRLS Ten Mantras model.
We have started with 250 students, and our goal is to provide quality education to 750 students by the 2027-28 academic year. Our mission extends beyond the classroom: we are committed to ensuring that at least 85% of our students receive vocational training and secure a job.
To realize this vision, we need your support. Program budget would grow to $400,000 per year, maintaining a cost-effective approach at just $1.25 per child per day.
Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and create a future where every child in Noida has the opportunity to thrive.

OUR GIRLS CATCH UP WITH PRIVATE SCHOOLS

We're thrilled to announce that our girls have reached national parity and are aiming to go beyond!
ASSET, taken by 400,000 children in 800 private schools across India, measures comprehension rather than rote learning. Private Schools like Doon School, Dehradun, St. Xavier's Patna, and MGD, Jaipur, participate in this benchmark assessment.
All our girls and teachers take the ASSET test, ensuring we benchmark our progress against the best schools in the country. At Vimukti, we started this journey in 2021 with a commitment to excellence.
Proud to see the dedication of our teachers and girls and hard work pay off as we continue to strive for greater heights!

Vimukti Girls School Surpasses Statewide Results in Grade 10 and 12 Boards!

Vimukti Girls School (VGS) has faced many challenges over the last several years - including relocating their campus three times. But despite all of these obstacles and surviving through lockdown, VGS students are determined to succeed.

Recently, the Rajasthan State School Board for Secondary Education announced Grade 10 and 12 results for 120,000 students, girls from Vimukti outperformed the rest. Through their hard work and use of our Digital Education Program, VGS was able to excel, when statewide results showed a decline in performance overall. Congratulations, Students!

The Edu-GIRLS' COVID Action Agenda played a pivotal role in their success. Launched in April 2020, you allowed us to start our Digital Program, properly train teachers and students on new software programs, and mentor mothers in the slums and provide over 1 million meals. This took some of the family pressure off of the girls and allowed them to focus.

SRGVVK SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE!

During the lockdown the doors at the SRGVVK Trust School were closed and students were learning at home using tablets. SRGVVK used this opportunity, with the help of Rotary International and Edu-GIRLS, to renovate and add a much needed second floor. When doors open, the school will now be able to increase female enrollment by 150%.

A TABLET FOR EVERY GIRL

With every girl having her own tablet now, they are able to self-learn and customize their education and take advantage of new opportunities not found in the classroom. Learning assessments now prioritize critical thinking and involve problem solving skills. The students are able to focus on either subjects that they need help with the most or advanced programs when the need a challenge by teachers directing girls to the right self learning software programs. Non-academic skills such as leadership, team building, and financial literacy are being built through various online programs and real life experiences. With their tablets they receive a priceless gift of attending remote info sessions and hearing from experts in various industries to learn what their options are. We are excited to share with you soon how this approach will be applied at other schools soon. Thank you for making this possible at Vimukti.

Each Tablet costs us $200 and is loaded with a carefully selected software package and data connectivity while also letting the students keep in contact daily with well trained teachers.
